dVIN: Turning Wine Bottles Into Digital Assets

Video

Luxury wine is a $1 trillion market served by roughly 30,000 small independent winemakers and some 10 million middlemen, which leaves the industry with no real source of truth.

Buy a $50 bottle and about $6 disappears into banking fees, delayed cross-border settlement and currency exchange. Tracking is minimal too: one in ten bottles is stored improperly, and neither winery nor buyer has a clear picture of how many bottles remain.

dVIN puts a digital cork on the bottle. Uncorking it generates a tasting token, a non-transferable record unique to that wine experience, which owners can earn rewards for sharing. The same onchain record gives winemakers visibility into exactly when and where their vintages are being drunk, and replaces unpredictable banking and logistics fees with stable payment rails.
